Norman Lamb MP and NHS Norfolk Offer Unique Opportunity to Residents

Norman Lamb, Member of Parliament for North Norfolk has teamed up with the NHS in Norfolk to offer a first of its kind open health advice surgery to his constituents.

The surgery which will take place at Merchants Court, Cromer, NR27 9GW on Monday 30th June from 10.00am to 12:00am will offer residents the opportunity to discuss their health issues in private one to one sessions with their MP, Norman Lamb and the Chief Executive and Chairman of NHS Norfolk.

Commenting on the surgery Norman Lamb said, "This is an innovative new idea and a fantastic opportunity for residents to raise their concerns, ideas and individual problems with the NHS and their MP in Norfolk. I am delighted that the Primary Care Trust agreed to take on this venture as it represents a great chance to get further public input into what can be done to improve the service at all levels. It is also an opportunity to raise individual concerns about any issue relating healthcare and the NHS in Norfolk. I would urge local people to take up this opportunity."

Residents are free to book a place for the surgery by ringing Norman Lamb's constituency office and his PA, Chrissie Litchfield on 01692 403752. It is advised that people wishing to book appointments do so as soon as possible as due to time restraints, places are limited.

Sheila Childerhouse, Chair of NHS Norfolk Board has praised the initiative, "I am delighted to be involved with the first joint Health Advice Surgery in the region. Councillors and local government officers hear first hand the call for improved services - matters such as longer opening hours at GP practices, shorter waiting lists for routine surgeries, and the need to ensure that hospital beds are available when needed."
