Together with participants from across the Health and Social Care sector, the three MPs hosted the meeting to help develop a better understanding of the problem of delayed discharge. Patients are being cleared to leave hospital but often there are no places available in community hospitals and social care centres. The meeting discussed how the healthcare infrastructure can best adapt to the challenges it faces and how organisations can work together more effectively.
Mr Lamb stated, "The meeting was a tough look at a very real problem in Norfolk. I think we developed some good solutions about how this very serious issue should be tackled. I am very thankful to all the members of the public who attended and for their productive thoughts and suggestions as this represents an invaluable insight into the issue."
