CAR PARKING CHARGES ARE TAX ON ILLNESS - LAMB

Commenting on the Welsh Assembly Government's announcement that hospital car parking charges will be banned, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb said:

"Patients with chronic illness who attend hospital regularly are hardest hit by exorbitant charges. In many hospitals car parking charges have become a tax on illness.

"Clear guidelines must be observed to prevent hospitals generating revenue unfairly to get themselves out of a financial black hole."
