Norman Lamb to Run the London Run for Wells Hospital

9.39.16am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 29th Mar 2007

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, will this year be running the British 10km London Run in aid of Wells Hospital.

Norman's wife, Mary Lamb, is organising around 20 runners to run for Cruse Bereavement Care - for whom she works. Norman is running with Mary's group, on behalf of Wells Cottage Hospital. The run takes place on 1st July, and Mr Lamb is asking local people to sponsor him.

Mr Lamb said: "At the age of 49, I have decided to take the plunge and run in the Great London Run on 1st July - I hope I don't regret the decision! I am aiming to raise as large a sum as I can for something I care passionately about - Wells Hospital."

"I have discussed this plan with Peter Rainsford. He has been brilliant in keeping me informed about how things are going. I think that the work Peter, and the team at the Hospital, have put in has been quite incredible. I have enormous admiration for their efforts. This is such an important project, I am absolutely determined that it should succeed."

Sponsorship cheques can be made payable to 'Wells Hospital and Hospice Trust' and sent to Mr Lamb at Norman Lamb, FREEPOST ANG20481, 15 Market Place, North Walsham, Norfolk NR28 9BR. Please include your name and full address.
