Lamb to Question Health Secretary on Speech Therapy Cuts

10.33.03am GMT Tue 28th Nov 2006

North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb is set to tackle Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt today about the recent cuts in funding for children's Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) in Norfolk.

Norman Lamb commented:

"Very grave concerns have been raised with me about these cuts and the impact they will have. This is going to hit the most vulnerable groups hardest, and I want to make sure the Health Secretary is fully aware of the issue. These cuts are wholly wrong."

This comes two days before a crucial meeting at County Hall on Thursday at which the issue will be discussed by county councillors and children's services bosses.

Health questions begin at 2.30pm on Tuesday 28th November. Norman Lamb's question is currently number 17 in the Order Book.
