Holway Road crossing gets green light for Christmas

1.25.43pm GMT Thu 3rd Nov 2005

Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb and Sheringham County Councillor Brian Hannah have welcomed the news that a proposed crossing for Holway Road, Sheringham, will be installed by the end of the year.

"Parents in Sheringham have raised with us on several occasions their concerns about safety on the road," said Norman Lamb. "At the beginning and end of the school day, there are often problems with getting children to cross the road safely. Many elderly people also have problems crossing this busy road."

"I am delighted that the crossing will soon be installed," said Liberal Democrat Brian Hannah. "Hopefully, the problems that local people experience every day will be alleviated."

Councillor Hannah has been working with the 3 schools in Sheringham on a Safer Schools travel plan as part of a Government initiative to encourage school travel using means of transport other than the car.
