Lamb welcomes Office of Fair Trading ultimatutum to high street banks

In response to the call by the Office of Fair Trading today for banks to speed up electronic money transfers via telephone and internet, Norman Lamb, Lib Dem Shadow Trade & Industry Secretary said:

"I welcome this ultimatum by the OFT. It is now incumbent on the banks to respond positively and quickly. One-day money transfers happen in other countries and it's time banks offered UK customers the same level of service."
