Local MP And UEA Scientist In Science Pairing Project Featured On BBC Radio 4

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, and UEA scientist Alex Haxeltine are featured tonight on BBC Radio 4's "MPs Road Show". The programme is about a new pairing project linking MPs to scientists.

Mr Lamb was paired with Alex Haxeltine, a climate change researcher at the University of East Anglia (UEA).

Norman Lamb said: "It's not often that politicians are able to directly see the important work being undertaken by our scientists. From my point of view, this has been a very valuable experiment. We fully intend to maintain contact. I will be visiting the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the UEA in September."

Norman Lamb's father Professor Hubert Lamb was responsible for the establishment of the Climate Change Research Unit at the UEA in the early seventies: "That was what brought our family to Norfolk".
